What do all of these abbreviations mean?

Industry Terms

WC = An animal caught from the wild or "Wild Caught".

LTC = A wild caught animal that has been in captivity for a long time or a "Long Term Captive".

PK = A feeder that is freshly killed before feeding or "Pre-Killed".

F/T = A pre-killed feeder that is frozen for storage and then thawed before feeding or "Frozen Thawed".

CH = An animal that is hatched in captivity but whose parents are still wild animals. The gravid females are collected from the wild, kept until they lay eggs and then released. The eggs are incubated and the babies are sold as "Captive Hatched".

CB = Similar to CH babies, CB babies are "born" in captivity but their parents were wild animals. The difference being that the parents were bred in captivity. The babies are then "Captive Bred".

CBB = An animal that is bred and hatched in captivity from captive parents. These babies are sold as "Captive Born and Bred".

SP = Species.

SSP = Sub-species.

UTH = A heat source that is placed under the "tank". Also know as an "Under Tank Heater or Heat Source".

GTP = Morelia viridis or "Green Tree Python".

ETB = Corallus caninus or "Emerald Tree Boa".

ATB = Corallu enydris e. or "Amazon Tree Boa".

BRB = Epicrates cenchira or Brazilian Rainbow Boa".

BP = Python regius or "Ball/Royal Python".

LTR = Elaphe obsoleta lindheimeri or "Leucistic Texas Ratsnake".

RES = Trachemys scripta elegans or "Red-Eared Slider".

IJCP/IJ = Morelia spilota variegata or "Irian Jaya Carpet Python".

JCP = Morelia spilota cheynei or "Jungle Carpet Python".

BCC = Boa constrictor c. or "Red Tailed Boa".

BCI = Boa constrictor imperator or "Common Boa".
