How to: Build a Rack

Part Six: V - The Final Battle

Ok, I finally got around to taking some pics of my rack fully-built and in full use. Here it is: :)

And with my 66% poss het Irish son, Tommy! :D

The total cost of materials (not including heat tape) was $433.71. The thermostat cost about $280.00 after shipping. 40' of 11" Heat tape, once it gets to my door, costs about $225.00. For a whopping total of: $938.71

I could have saved a bit of money here and there on some of the materials but not too many. I might have been able to shave off $50-$100, but that's about it.

I've been using this rack for almost a year now and have built several more with a few variations on the design. I love these racks! They are BY FAR the best racks I've used. :-)

One final picture of the only injury I sustained during the whole project. I was literally screwing in one of my last screws and the screwdriver bit slipped off the screw head and went THROUGH my thumbnail!!!! OUCH! :-( LOL

Anyway, thanks for following along with these articles. I hope some of you found them at least a bit useful! :p :)
